Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable organization, handles a wide range of civil cases which address the survival needs of low income individuals and families. Its MISSION is “to provide high quality, legal aid to low-income people of the 114 counties served by Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas through the combined efforts of legal services staff and volunteer attorneys, to communicate the availability of the services to the targeted community, and to make the services accessible to the people eligible for the services.”
WHAT KIND OF CASES ARE HANDLED BY LANWT?
LANWT provides help to income eligible individuals and families in matters of civil law, including family law and domestic violence cases, access to benefits, housing issues, consumer finance problems, employment, wills and probate, and problems of disabled persons among many others..

To be eligible for Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, the applicant must:
HOW DO YOU APPLY FOR LEGAL ASSISTANCE?
A low-income individual in Tarrant County may apply for legal help through Legal Aid’s Fort Worth office.
TO APPLY AT LANWT’s FORT WORTH BRANCH OFFICE, call the intake lines at (817) 336-3943 or (800) 955-3959 from 8:30 to 11:00 A.M. or 1:30 to 4:00 P.M., Monday thru Wednesday. An intake worker will screen you for eligibility.
