The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of the State Bar of Texas. The State Bar of Texas, an administrative agency of the Texas Supreme Court, is a mandatory state bar with over 100,000 members, a staff of 261 and an annual budget in excess of $48M. The Executive Director executes the policies and directives of the 59-member Board of Directors of the State Bar.
Minimum Qualifications: The following are required of the successful
applicant: a law degree from an ABA accredited law school and an active law license in good standing. Executive and administrative ability with knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to state agencies and attorney membership organizations. Demonstrated skill in dealing with matters of a sensitive, confidential and/or political nature.
The position requires extensive travel both in and out of state.
